Leaf peeping in colorado

Fall is officially here! I love the fall, it may be my favorite season. With the pandemic, I have not been traveling or really leaving the house much. A few days of leaf peeping in beautiful Colorado was much needed!

The first drive was through Golden Gate Canyon State Park and the leaves had just begun to change. It was a beautiful drive and good to get out. We took a picnic and found a nice quiet spot to enjoy some time outdoors.

My second drive was a long one and the scenery with the leaves were beautiful! We drove up and through Nederlands and was able to stop at the Barker Meadow Reservoir to take in the beautiful view. Then we traveled through the mountains to Black Hawk and Central City. After the long drive, we wandered around Central City for bit and the little city is too cute. It was so nice to get out and about for the afternoon.

I’ve always enjoyed a good leaf peeping in Colorado. Even more so during the pandemic, I think it was special to get out, enjoy the outdoors and be in awe for a little while of what nature is capable of. Where is your favorite place to go leaf peeping? Leave a comment below!
