Autumn in Estes Park

Autumn is my favorite season and I’m trying to enjoy every second of it. It’s hard not being able to travel right now and I haven’t really gotten used to it. Trying to make the most of the pandemic, I’ve been turning little day trips into big adventures and Estes Park fulfilled just that. We drove up to Estes Park for the afternoon and took a walk around Lake Estes. During our walk we ended up Elk and duck watching, did some pine cone foraging and got our daily walk in. It was gorgeous!

As we were nearing the car, it started to flurry. Our first snow sighting of the year. We drove to the Stanley Hotel and walked around the historic hotel. All of a sudden, we were in the middle of a white out! It was full blown snowing in October. Then the snow went away, the sun came back out and it was a perfect Colorado day once again.

After driving through the main street we drove back to Denver. It was a beautiful day and the perfect mini-trip! It was another leaf peeping success. Where have you been taking day trips and what have you been doing during the pandemic?
