2019 - A Glance Back

It’s hard to believe that 2019 is over and we have welcomed 2020. The end of the year is a great time to take pause and reflect on the happenings of the year. Work was stable this year and that allowed me to have an amazing travel year.

In March, I went to Las Vegas for the first time. Luckily, it wasn’t all casinos and drinking for me. I got to see the Eiffel Tower at The Paris, the Neon Museum, flamingos at the Flamingo, The Hoover Dam, The Bellagio Fountain, visited my first tiki bar, saw two Cirque du Soleil shows, O and Mystere, and walked away $40 dollars up!

I ventured off to France in April to choose a town to buy a holiday home. My focus was on the Burgundy region where I visited Nevers, Chalon-Sur-Saone and Auxerre. After exploring these beautiful towns, I stopped by Paris on the way back to celebrate my birthday with a cheese tasting and a day wandering the city.

In May, I took a weekend trip with a good friend to Del Norte, what is in Del Norte you ask, not much but it was a great place for some relaxation.

A road trip to Yellowstone seemed like a great idea over Independence Day in July. I visited when I was younger but didn’t remember a lot and thought I would appreciate it more now that I am older. Which I did! It was beautiful.

I went to the top of Pike’s Peak in August and it was terrifying! The drive anyway, not the whole drive but the last part where you feel like you may just fall right off the mountain. I have no idea how people bicycle up there!!

In September, I took an amazing trip down the California Coast. It all started in San Francisco, then down Big Sur to Santa Maria, a stop in Solvang, then Fallbrook, San Diego and Los Angeles. The coast in California is gorgeous!!

I’ve lived in Colorado for 20 years now and I’ve never visited the Maroon Bells. I’m not sure why it took so long for me to go, but I’m very happy I did. October was the perfect time to go and see the leaves changing.

November started out strong with a Pacific Northwest Road Trip from Seattle to Portland with stops in Long Beach and Canon Beach.

November was a big travel month, after the Pacific Northwest Road trip, I had the opportunity to take my first mother/daughter trip to Waco, Texas to see all of the Magnolia sights. Over Thanksgiving weekend, I took a last minute trip to Montrose and Telluride, Colorado. Blog posts coming soon!

Last but certainly not least, I just arrived back from the Midwest where I had the opportunity to visit Milwaukee, Ann Arbor, Detroit and Chicago. Vising the Midwest in the middle of winter did not seem like the best idea, but it all worked out really well! You will see a blog post coming for that trip at the end of January.

I like to reflect on the year that is passing and look forward to the new year to come. I think that 2020 has amazing things in store and I’m looking forward to new experiences. I am hopeful to achieve my goals in 2020 and to travel new places. I wish each of you a happy and healthy new year to come!
